Citi cardholders can get early access to Beyoncé's Renaissance tour — here are the best Citi cards to open to get your presale tickets (2024)

Beyoncé announced the dates of her highly-anticipated "Renaissance" world tour this morning to kick off Black History Month.

According to Vivid Seats, the average ticket price for the "Formation" tour, Beyoncé's last solo tour, was $207 apiece. Loyal members of the BeyHive (myself included) started saving for tickets as soon as Queen Bey dropped "Renaissance" on July 29, 2022.

To get tickets early, you have a few options:

  • BeyHive members can register as a Verified Fan on Live Nation to get presale access. You must already be a member of BeyHive's email list in order to sign up.
  • You can sign up as a regular Verified Fan on Live Nation.
  • If you have a Citi credit card (such as the Citi Premier® Card or Citi®Double Cash Card) or Citi debit card, you get special presale access.

All three options use Live Nation's Verified Fan service, which filters out buyers looking to resell tickets. You'll be entered in a lottery-style process and notified via text and email if you're selected. Tickets aren't guaranteed using the above three options, but you'll have a shot at getting highly-coveted Beyoncé tickets before everyone else.

We're focused here on the rewards and perks that come with each card. These cards won't be worth it if you're paying interest or late fees. When using a credit card, it's important to pay your balance in full each month, make payments on time, and only spend what you can afford to pay.

Live Nation

For Verified Fan Registration, you'll be required to use the first six digits of your Citi credit card or debit card. Registration does not guarantee tickets; fans will be randomly selected in a lottery-style process to get access to presale tickets.

According to the Citi Entertainment website, fans will be notified by Ticketmaster the night before the presale for each group if they are selected for early access to Beyoncé tickets.

If selected, you'll need a Citi credit card or debit card to make your purchase. Here are the sale dates:

  • Group A: Tuesday, February 7 at 10 a.m. through Wednesday, February 8 at 6 p.m.
  • Group B: Tuesday, February 14 at 10 a.m. through Wednesday, February 15 at 6 p.m.
  • Group C: Tuesday, February 21 at 10 a.m. through Wednesday, February 22 at 6 p.m.

It's not too late to open a Citi credit card and get access to Beyoncé's presale

If you don't have a Citi card, you can still apply for one online to get access to presale tickets. Several Citi credit cards allow you to request instant access to your temporary card information on approval, which you can use to get in on the presale. These include:

  • Citi Custom Cash℠ Card
  • Citi Rewards+® Card*
  • Citi® Diamond Preferred® Card
  • Citi Simplicity® Card*

The temporary card will include a card number, expiration date, and CVV details required to sign up for early access to Beyoncé tickets. This information will not be available again until you receive a physical card in the mail, which may take up to 10 business days (so be sure to write it down correctly).

Of course, if you already have a Citi credit or debit card in your wallet, you won't have to worry about this step.

Once it's time for the presale, navigate to Citi Entertainment and select the date you want. You'll then be sent to Ticketmaster's website to make your purchase. We recommend preparing for this early as there will likely be a huge demand for tickets, if the Capital One Taylor Swift presale is any indication.
